Sign you are at the Mitchell family homestead on the morning of Christmas Eve: Everybody keeps creeping stealthily around to see if they can find an available, out-of-the-way spot to block all of the last-minute Christmas knitting and let it dry without its intended recipient noticing it.

(I am fortunate; [livejournal.com profile] vtwopointoh wakes up at the asscrack of dawn, so I can just claim his bed.)

And yes, I got it all done. Daddy's gloves were finished on the plane; [livejournal.com profile] vtwopointoh spent the whole flight weaving in ends. But it's all done. (All right, I've still got one of my nephew's two bear mittens to finish. But that's almost done, right?)

And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to finish that mitten. And then seam the things that are blocking once they dry. (Seaming does not count as 'not finished knitting'.) And then I get to spend the rest of the day cooking, baking, cleaning, and wrangling children. While being horribly jetlagged. At least the eggnog comes out around lunchtime or so.

Ah, family for the holidays.

(At least we have working internet this time, so I don't have to listen to [livejournal.com profile] vtwopointoh bitching.)

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate it. :)

Thanks for the Xmas card! All the way to sunny Australia :-)

(It has been very sunny today. We ate dinner out in the back garden, and it was light till a bit after 9pm. I am officially *freaked out*.)

I am still half a sock short. At this point? Ain't Gonna Happen. I'll give the recipient Sock 1, and finish Sock 2 when I can actually *knit* in public tomorrow.

On the upside, whilst unable to do Xmas Knitting in public, I finished casting off the travelling-to-Australia shawl (http://www.fiddlesticksknitting.com/peacock_feathers_shawl.html), tho it does still need blocking.

Merry Xmas!

Yay for done knitting! (I just started mine last night, but it's acknowledged that gifts aren't going to be exchanged until LATER, so I have some undefined sort of extension to the stuff.) Merry Christmas, and thank you for the card. ^__^

Best of wishes with the knit-finishing. I've pretty much given up on finishing one or two things, and have decided they will make excellent "ringing in the new year" presents.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and all that jazz. Please pass on my warmest wishes to the rest of the Mitchells and especially to [livejournal.com profile] vtwopointoh. While I have enourmous love for the rants he posts in his journal, I haven't quite screwed up my courage to interact with him myself...yet. I'm just waiting for the right rant.

Enjoy the eggnog, it sounds like you'll have earned it.

Happy holidays to you and yours, and I'm sending a virtual hand rub since I can't deliver in person. After that schedule of cards, knitting, and cooking, you need one! Or more. Here, have two, and a foot rub for [livejournal.com profile] vtwopointoh since I've never known a runner to turn one down. Call 'em promisory notes if we're ever all in one place.

Merry Christmas to you and yours! Hope you have an enjoyable holiday - after the past month, I'm just shooting for "quiet." Still at work now - going to go home, order Chinese food and knit for the next four days.

Happy holidays! Glad you got the knotting (mostly) done :-). My sewing is not *nearly* finished, but there will be done things tomorrow and the most of them are not really due until Twelfth Night, thank goodness, since I have been Yuletiding instead.

I loved the card -- thank you!

Merry Christmas!!! I hope you get a chance to relax at some point! I imagine eggnog is pretty relaxing. :)

P.S. You know, I don't think I've ever had eggnog. Not really an Aussie summer Christmas thing ...
